His love for the Great Masters of the Italian Renaissance, especially Leonardo Da Vinci and Michangelo, lead him to study their techniques at the Dell’Accademia Delle Belle Arti school in Florence. This rigorous study in human anatomy made George one of the few artists who can take this knowledge of the human figure and distort it while managing to keep it perfectly balanced. George's artistic connection with his chosen subject matter also came from his family’s heritage from the Greek island of Castellorizzo. He had an immediate affinity with the people and the landscape.
